Because I Care
This evening I would like to share this card I made for my Mum's birthday using the delightful Because I Care hostess stamp set and the new Texture Plate from Stampin' Up! that you will find in the Summer Mini.
The colours I have put together are probably my favourite combinations in Old Olive and Rich Razzleberry, I have also added some accents with Blushing Bride.
To get the lovely soft colour in the hydrangea, I first stamped the image onto Very Vanilla card stock using Old Olive on the stem and Blushing Bride on the flower head. Taking my aqua pen, I then light swirled over the whole flower head image which just softened off the lines and allowed the colour to bleed into the petals. Next I took my stamp-a-ma-jig and carefully lined up the image, this time inking up the flower head only in Rich Razzleberry. Again using my aqua pen, I blended some of the colour from the flower centers out into the petals. This just gave the flower some depth, but be careful not to let it get too wet or you begin to loose the crisp outline of each flower and that gives the whole image a blurry kind of look.
I used Blushing Bride and Rich Razzleberry to blend the edges of the card stock. I layered this onto a piece of Old Olive which I scalloped down one side.
I love the new texture plate, it almost gives your card stock a fabric kind of look. I have ran a piece of Rich Razzleberry through the Big Shot and sponged the edges of both that and the DSP i have layered it on. This all got added to the Old Olive card base. A piece of ribbon from the mistletoe bonus that was available in the Dress Up Christmas Promo and what you see is the end result.
No card is complete without a lovely center, so I used the single petal and the leaves off the flower, the sentiment is from the Every Moment stamp set, which by the way, my Mum loved the saying.
I have you have fun playing with this idea.
Cheers Dani xoxo

Family Home
Hello, today I have been playing around with some ideas for off the page scrapbooking projects that I can use in my workshops. This little house was inspired by one I saw in an older Inspirations newsletter from Stampin' Up!
I have used Stampin' Up!'s brights range of cardstock, DSP and inks to create this cute little Family home that can take four to seven photo's (if you do it front and back). The flowers have all been punched out using the Boho blossom punch and the Itty Bitty shapes punches. The stamps are also from the Itty Bitty bits range which you will find in the Summer Mini 2010 out December 1st. These stamps and punches are so versatile, I recommend you add them to your collection.

Little Monster Card
Are you like me and have a hard time coming up with male cards? Well this is the perfect stamp set for you. Stampin' Ups Make a Monster Set 121837 is great for doing boys card, BIG and little! It comes in wood mount or clear mount, but I would suggest the wood mount will save you switching all those little bits onto block, just grab the image, ink it up and stamp. This is a card I made with a little boy in mind using the celebrations papers from Stampin' Up, but if you used the inside image and more grown up backgrounds it could easily be given to a man, especially if you add the tongue in cheek caption from the Hostess Afterthoughts Set as I have done here. If you would like to order this, or any other stamping up products please send me an email.
Cheers, have a great day......Dani

Tash's 21st
Hello, my niece Natasha is turning twenty one this weekend and I wanted to create a memorable card for her. I did one of the bi fold cards using papers that I have had in my stash for a while. I have really loved this peacock paper but never had the right thing to use it on, however the contrast between the three designs work really well with this layout. I also had an accent sheet to go with it which is were the note card inside and the flower on the back came from.
I have made some smoochy flowers to put on the front along with the Sizzlits Little Leaves from Stampin' Up. All the ink work that I have done is in Crumb Cake again from Stampin' Up. I absolutely adore this colour, I use it all the time to add accent and depth to my stamping. You can't really tell but I have also used my Mat Pack and paper piercer to pierce a row of holes along the top edge of the card and also a double row through the scallop piece along the bottom.
Her gift is jewellery from Goldsmiths and they use these cute little round boxes, however they are bright purple with white circles on them. I decided to also cover these in the matching paper so they co-ordinate nicely with the card. This is the end result which I am very pleased with. I hope Tash likes the card and keeps it for a bit of a keep sake. That is the risk we card makers take I guess. I could never part with a card that has be personally hand made for me but not everyone is like that!! It's worth the risk just to enjoy the pleasure on peoples face when they open it and realise that is has been made by me just for them. Have a good day everyone, off to Stampin' Up regionals this weekend.....yahoo, can't wait to see what they have to teach us and get all those goodies!

Dauber Landscaping
Hello, today I am going to share with you a landscape card that I have created. I have seen this style of card done many times on the SU demonstrators sight and just had to have a go at it myself. It is not technically a CASE as i have certainly added my own touches to it that I haven't seen anyone else do before such as the grassy bracks on the waters edge, however there have been cards done with mountains in the background and a deer in the foreground. So now I suppose you would like to know just how to create this card??
Firstly you need to use white glossy paper for your card front. I find that the inks blend much nicer on this card. Next you take a scrap piece of computer paper and you just want to tear it to create mountain shapes. There is no right or wrong to this, creative licence all the way!
Once you are happy with the shape you then want to take the negative of this shape (so lets say the sky section above the mountain) and place it where you would like you first (green) mountain to go. Then load up your dauber with ink ( I used Old Olive) and starting at the torn paper edge start blending the area making sure to soften the colour as you go down the mountain. Once happy, you then need to use the positive of your mountain to mask it off, and we are going to repeat the process for the mountain behind ( I used Soft Suede Ink). I actually made a different shape for this mountain because as we know, no two mountains are the same!!
Next, take your Old Olive dauber and along the bottom edge and up the left hand side softly blend some colour, again, darker on the edge and softening as you move into the card. Remember, we are adding a lake so don't get to excited with the colour just yet. Take your Marina Mist Ink and with your dauber nicely loaded start filling in your lake area, now you don't want straight edges on this so be a bit random especially on the far side of the lake. Use your dauber without adding anymore ink to lightly add colour to the sky. OK, so now we want to add some depth to or lake, take your dauber and lightly load with night of navy ink. You want to add this slowly towards the back of the water near the mountains, you can always add more if it isn't dark enough but is hard to remove if you go too dark!! Once you are happy it is time to stamp.
I have used the lovely images from the Pocket Silhouette Set, if you don't have this any leafy stamp will do, or you can order it by contacting me at daniellefrendo@yahoo.com.au . Take your leafy image and stamp in Old Olive ink around the bottom and left hand edge of the card, next take the fairy flower image and ink up in Soft Suede but try not to ink the stems to much, you don't want all the lines at the bottom of you card. Stamp this amongst the leaves and also just above so it adds another layer. Next again with Old Olive just inking the tops of bracks stamp in the grassy areas and don't be scared to double stamp without re inking in between!
Beautiful, now you have a great setting to add your deer!
Take your Early Espresso ink and Dasher stamp. I didn't want all the antler so I have Masked them off to shorten. Again artistic licence here, you do what you like. Stamp Dasher standing on the bank, next again with the Early Espresso ink stamp a few leafy images in the left corner of your card to give your foliage some depth.
You can add any sentiment you like, I have used the happiness sentiment from the Heard from the Heart set. I have mounted it onto Early Espresso card stock.
I hope you have fun making this card, as I said there is no wrong or right to this method, artistic license all the way!!!!
